Apple has revealed that they are launching the Apple Vision Pro headsets. These Vision Pro headsets will be available in Apple Stores on February 2, 2024, in the United States and in other countries later this year. They are planning to start pre-order on January 19, 2024, Friday for $3,499 per device. The announcement will significantly make an impression at CES, but Apple is not going to attend the conference.
Many say that the Apple Vision Pro headsets are most likely to be Apple’s VR headsets; however, Apple has not referred it as such. Apple explains this device as a “revolutionary spatial computer” and briefly explains how the user will stay present while using these headsets. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple said in June 2023 at WWDC that this device will pave the way in “the beginning of a new era of computing”.
Release of Apple Vision Pro:
Apple revealed about the Vision Pro headsets at WWDC in June. At WWDC, Apple claimed that they are working on the launch of Vision Pro early next year. However, its arrival in January is very early than the expectations of many. However, the announcement of the device just a day before the CES will be the best opportunity for Apple to get maximum attention from the media.
Initially, the Vision Pro headsets will be available in the U.S. only. But, other countries will have to wait for a while for this masterpiece. In detail, Gurman claimed that the headsets will be available in the U.K. and Canada before the end of this year. On the other side, Asia and other European countries will have to wait for a bit more than the U.K. and Canada.
Price of Apple Vision Pro:
The price of Vision Pro is $3,499 in the U.S., but nothing has been confirmed about the pricing outside the U.S. so far. After reviewing the usual pricing structure of Apple that will be around £3,499 in U.K. However, for prescription lenses, Apple will charge you some additional cost, as they have charged for ZEISS Optical Insets Readers for $99 and $149 for ZEISS Optical Inserts Prescription.
Apple Vision Pro Headsets will come with a Solo Knit Band or Dual Loop Band. One can choose according to his comfort in either of the bands. In addition to this, an external battery pack will come with the device. However, we are still unsure whether there will be additional optional options or accessories available or not.

A cheaper version of Vision Pro:
After hearing the word Pro after the name of the device, many individuals believe that its less Pro version will also come. However, there is no proper evidence about the arrival of its less Pro or standard version. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman thinks that a cheaper version of headsets will arrive in 2025. About the cheaper version, Gurman wrote that a cheaper version of the Vision Pro is in development in a newsletter in June 2023. It might have a lower-quality screen, an older Mac chip, and fewer cameras as compared to the Pro version. Gurman also claimed that Apple is working on a sequel to headsets which might be a bit cheaper than the original model.
According to Gurman, the cheaper version of headsets will be named Apple Vision or maybe Apple Vision Pro.
Design of Apple Vision Pro:
The Apple Vision Pro has a custom aluminum alloy frame that curves around the user’s face. It is made with a modular design that can fit each user perfectly. It has a light seal that is of soft textile and comes in various sizes and shapes to fit the user more precisely. The straps are quite flexible. So they can be adjusted according to the head of the user and to position the Audio Pods near the ears. The cushioned headband of the device comes in various sizes.
Features of Apple Vision Pro:
The Apple Vision Pro has a vast amount of features. Apple claimed that the Apple Vision Pro will deliver phenomenal computing performance. The device is powered by an M2 processor and an R1 chip. It utilizes 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones to process the input and even removes the lag to avoid latency. It will have the amazing capability to update images really fast. Apple claimed that these headsets will run virtually silently.
It has two ultra-high-resolution displays that collectively make 23 million pixels. It generates a 4K display for each, generating a display of approximately 100 feet wide. Its video will be displayed at 4K resolution. It’s each audio pod will have amplified drivers. That will facilitate Personalized Spatial Audio according to the user’s ear and head geometry. That makes it feel like the sound is coming from the space around you. The device also has the capability to match the sound to the room by raytracing.
There is a high-performance eye-tracking system. It utilizes a camera and a ring of LEDs to project invisible light patterns on the eyes of the user. So, the headset is efficient enough to understand how the user looks. The device works with high-performance eye tracking to control the interface. For playing games, there are controllers as an external accessory to use.
The headset can also detect the iris of its user by a unique method. This method will also unlock the device and for authentication of the passwords or purchases with an Optical ID. Like all other devices of iPhone such as Mac or iPhone, all the data of Vision Pro will be stored on a Secured Enclave Processor.
Eye Sight:
The Vision Pro has also a very unique feature, EyeSight. With this feature, the device will project the right perspective of your eyes to other individuals who are looking at you. EyeSight will also show others if it is capturing a spatial photo or video by a visual indicator.
